Welcome to the Hext Theatre, after two years of providing live entertainment in the lower level of the Brown Street Mall, we are moving to a bigger, grander, location. We will be moving across the street and call 25 South Brown Street our new home. For those of you familiar with the Rhinelander area, you know it as the old Brown Street Books location.

We not only welcome our new location, we also welcome a new partner, Ian Abrams. Some of you may know him from his performances in the theatre with On The Spot, the improv comedy troupe. Ian will be a great asset to our theatre family.

Another addition to our theatre family will be Tucker Diedrich; he will take on the role as our Comedy Booking Agent. Tucker has performed at the theatre many times, and he knows quite a few local and national comedians that he will be able to book at our theatre. He will bring in great comedians on a regular monthly basis when the theatre re-opens, so get ready to laugh your socks off!

With this grand move, there will be some big changes. Not only will our capacity double in size, but also the new theatre will be more convenient for handicap access. We will have a bigger, grander stage with new lighting and sound system. With the bigger patron capacity, we will be able to bring in some bigger name acts to perform in Rhinelander.

Our plans are to open a new, expanded lounge area, named Stage Left, by late June or early July. This space will be on the left side of the building, where we will offer great drinks like smoothies, chai tea, beer and soda. Other items that will be available will be yummy appetizers and treats that will delight the senses. Then the theatre will open by late July to Early August.
